You can expect to pay more in restaurants and coastal

regions but still very inexpensive.

Bulgaria is very much a cash country but you can use

your credit cards in many hotels and boutiques but the majority

of shops and restaurants prefer cash.

You can use the cash machines in the main towns of Bourgas,Varna, Sofia and

exchange your currency at many banks and exchange offices,

rates are variable. (Best to shop around).

Or you can use the online service and have your currency delivered straight to your home with 0% commission.

Most currencies are accepted but Euros and Dollars are preferred.

Be aware, as in many countries you have the illegal street traders

who wish to change money with you.

Not a good idea to use these traders as they will cheat you.
